Day 2 – Remember

What did you do in 2013 that you will remember in the details forever?

I feel like I am going to be a broken record throughout this remembrance of 2013. I’ll always remember the day Baby C was born. At the same time, I think there are some fuzzy things. One thing I do remember is how quiet Baby C was when she was handed to us. She just sat there and looked around barely saying a word. Unfortunately, that quietness didn’t last very long. πŸ™‚

Day 3 – Hasten

What trick or shortcut did you learn in 2013? What do you want to speed up in 2014?

Everything seemed to take longer this year. If you’ve ever tried to get out of the house alone with a baby under four months old, then I think you know what I mean. Nuff said!

I’d like to speed up my writing this year whether it’s for this blog or for work. I think about how to express things for quite some time. Editing? Don’t even ask. Writing more quickly is going to help me woth both this blog as well as at work.

Day 4 – Rebuild

What do you plan to pick-up or rebuild this year?

Well, your reading it. I’m going to try my best to be a blogger again this year. Thanks for reading so far. πŸ™‚ I’ve missed blogging so much.

Day 5 – Sing

What song or lyrics will be forever tie to 2013 in your mind? What songs are you excited to keep with you in 2013?Β

Quite frankly, I just don’t really keep up much with music. I wish I could say that there was some song the encapsulated my year. Unfortunately, there isn’t one. OOps!

I promise I’ll make these more interesting!

We Verb 14, Day 1 – Compose

Wednesday, January 1st, 2014 | Posted under Uncategorized

As a way of getting back into the spirit of writing and blogging as a habit, I’m going to make a feeble attempt to participate in WeVerb 14. It’s a way of bloggers and other social media types to reorient themselves for the year as it relates to social media. Each day there is a series of prompts. Let’s see if I can do all 31! Challenge accepted.

Day #1 – Compose

Write a haiku for 2013 and one for 2014.

2013
A baby is born
Life is never the same for me
That’s a good thing though πŸ™‚

2014
Striving for balance
Creating a space for me
Daring to be bold

Black Weblog Awards 2012

Friday, September 28th, 2012 | Posted under Uncategorized

Hey there!

I think I should have probably mentioned this before, but I have been a touch distracted the past few weeks. Little ol’ me has been nominated for the 2012 Black Weblog Awards in both the Travel and Food categories. I can tell you now that I probably won’t win. πŸ™‚ It’s not me being negative (I know you’re thinking: “Terri, come on now!”), but many of the blogs nominated have much bigger fan bases than mine. I know many of the other bloggers (especially in the travel category), and I urge you to check out their blogs for more wonderful travel goodness. They are great bloggers writing about great things. Everything is based on votes, so if you could cast one (or two) for me, I’d be very honored.

Voting for the semi-finals ends on Monday, October 1. If I make it out of the semi-final round, I’ll let you know.

Here’s the link to the site as well as the ballot.

Thanks in advance, everyone. I appreciate it.

“Walk Through” Week

Wednesday, September 26th, 2012 | Posted under Uncategorized

Well, hello there…..

For me, one of the best parts of traveling is seeing how people go about their everyday lives. The sights are fun and all, but the people watching and life observations are really the fun part for me. I thought I would take this week on TAO to show you daily life Β in three very different cities.

Welcome to “Walk Through” Week.

Hey, everyone!

Here’s a vlog in support of the Traveling Brown Girl Blogging Carnival. I decided to talk. Clearly I say “like” too much, but I hope you enjoy the vlog anyway. I’ll let you know who else is participating in the blogging carnival for this month later this week.

By the way, what are YOUR travel pet peeves?
